Mercedes Classe A Concept

Mercedes revealed today the new 2012 A Class concept, which will have its world debut at the 2011 New
York Auto Show. We know what you are thinking right now. It looks a bit out of this world, and Mercedes them selves believe the same thing. However, after viewing the Merc's 2012 A Class concept from the rear, we have to say it does have some VW Scirocco in it, but not as much as its side view. Mercedes says the new 2012 A Class concept is powered by a new turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine coupled with a dual clutch transmission. We believe the production 2012 Mercedes A Class will offer a much broader range of engine and gearbox options.

Mercedes also fitted the 2012 A Class concept with a radar-based collision warning system with
adaptive Brake Assist. Not that it need it in any way since it's ust a show car. All they want to say is that the production version of the 2012 A Class will feature such systems.

The 2012 Mercedes A Class Concept is powered by a M270 series 4-cylinder gasoline engine, and comes with front-wheel drive. The engine has a transverse mounting architecture and features direct injection and turbocharging. Merc's new 2012 Concept A Class develops 210 hp, and features the BlueEFFICIENCY technology.
